Sydney, Australia is approximately 700 square miles, with a population of over 4 million people. It is a vibrant, active city with a gorgeous harbor, fabulous beaches, an exciting nightlife, and world class accommodation. There is no shortage of things to do in Sydney, some of which include:

  1. Taking in a Movie at an Outdoor Cinema – See your favorite movie under the stars or at least in front of a sunset, at one of Sydney’s unique outdoor cinemas. These run in the summer months though it will be hard to keep your eyes on the screen and off the stunning views of the Sydney Harbor.
  2. Hit the Beach – Whether you choose to stretch out and enjoy the feel of the warm sand, catch some surfers or even take lessons yourself, Sydney’s many beaches have something to offer you. There are over 70 surf beaches in Sydney, and it is also home to the Australian Open of Surfing in February. There are 100’s of other beaches to choose from if surfing isn’t your thing, including many family beaches. Many local Australians also visit from other parts due to countless cheap domestic flights.
  3. Visit the Aquarium – The Sydney Aquarium has more than 12,000 aquatic animals from 650 different species to keep you engaged. There are 60 tanks and 3 oceanariums, and by the time you leave you will have seen the largest collection of all-Australian aquatic life around.
  4. Take in a bit of History – The Museum of Sydney is a great way to learn about the area, its people and culture.  Its exhibits are always changing and the permanent fixtures take you from the archeological remains of the first Government House to modern times in Sydney.
  5. Visit the Opera House – Arguably Sydney’s most prominent landmark, the Sydney Opera House is just as interesting inside as it is stunning outside. It is not only one of the world’s busiest and most creative performing arts centers, but it’s also an architectural wonder. You can take a tour to learn all there is to know, or attend any of the 1600 performances put on each year, choosing from ballet, opera, theater, comedy, kids shows and more.
  6. See the City from the Top – The Sydney Tower Eye lets you view the city from its highest point with 360 degree stunning views. While you’re there take in the 4D show as well.
