Things to do in Montego Bay, Jamaica

Montego Bay is the number one destination on the island of Jamaica, and it’s easy to understand why. This seaside city is easily accessible, has an incredible array of things to do for the entire family, and it is simply buzzing with energy. Let’s explore some of the ways to keep busy while in Montego Bay:

  1. Spend the Day at Aquasol Theme Park – Walter Fletcher Beach is home to Aquasol Theme Park and you and your family will have a ball while you’re here. Try it all from go karting, fun water sports such as kayaking, parasailing or glass bottom boating, bouncing on the trampolines, playing beach volleyball or play tennis on one of two professional courts. End the day with a trip to the sport’s bar and restaurant and wind down with a game of pool.
  2. Play Some Golf – There are several world class golf courses in Montego Bay, with gorgeous views of the Caribbean and tropical surroundings. Half Moon Golf Course is one of the best walking courses in the Caribbean, and you can play with a caddy, or even sign up for lessons. White Witch of Rose Hall Golf Course has a neat feature – dramatic views and drops in between the tees. It’s in the hills overlooking the sea, and is one of the most scenic golf courses in the world.
  3. Take a Cruise – There are a variety of cruises for you to choose from, each promising a unique and unforgettable experience. Try a catamaran, rafting, a night time cruise or snorkeling.
  4. Relax at a Spa – All those incredible views, good food, and fun activities can take a toll on you! Choose from a wide variety of spas in Montego Bay and treat yourself to a relaxing outdoor massage, cleansing facial, or any one of the treatments on offer.
  5. Take in a Festival – Throughout the year there are many festivals in Montego Bay, including: Jamaica Jazz and Blues – Now in its 15th year, this outdoor festival has seen such headliners as Alicia Keys, Earth Wind and Fire, and Natalie Cole. It is held 20 minutes outside of Montego Bay and takes place towards the end of January. Reggae Sumfest is held mid-July and runs two nights.

Montego Bay is the premiere destination in Jamaica and a place that has something to do for everyone. From the gorgeous beaches to the fabulous nightlife, once you get there, you won’t want to leave.
