Amalfi and Positano are two of its most prominent cities, and can be reached by hiring a boat service from the port of Salerno. The trip takes no more than 30 minutes, during which you can enjoy the spectacular greatness of these cities built around the mountain and overlooking the sea, and imagine how the life was in the late Middle Ages, when they had a number close to 70 thousand of inhabitants. Not surprisingly, the Amalfi Coast was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997.
