It is easy to see why Florida is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. However, the Sunshine State’s perks and plus points also make it an ideal place for nearly every type of holidaymaker to visit.

From Miami’s cosmopolitan and trendy South Beach to the upscale and family-friendly Fort Lauderdale; every corner of the USA’s most south-eastern state boasts something unique. However, Orlando is where Florida really comes into its own.

With numerous activities and attractions on offer, flights to Orlando are understandably jam-packed with couples, families and fun-loving travellers all year round … there’s no question why Orlando appeals to everyone. So, with this in mind, here is why Florida’s capital of tourism appeals to everyone.

Theme parks and major attractions

Theme parks and entertainment facilities are perhaps the main reason why so many people visit Orlando, particularly thrill-seeking adrenaline junkies. However, young princesses will make once in a lifetime memories at Walt Disney World while Universal Orlando Resort is perfect for movie lovers and film aficionados. Other prominent parks and attractions include SeaWorld, Aquatica, Discovery Cove, Gatorland and Wet ’N Wild.

Shopping malls

It is possible to shop until you drop in Orlando thanks to the myriad of world-class malls. The city’s largest shopping centre is The Florida Mall, home to over 200 stores including Saks Fifth Avenue, Macy’s, JC Penney and Sears. However, the more upscale Mall at Millenia should not be missed, as it features high-profile designer brands like Tiffany’s, Hugo Boss and Gucci.

Action-packed pursuits

If the theme parks don’t provide enough excitement and exhilaration, adventure tourists might be interested in more action-packed activities. Go skydiving and see Florida’s impressive scenery from up high, or enjoy the iconic pastime of gliding across the Everglades swampland in an airboat. If these options are a bit too extreme, horse riding, ballooning, diving, snorkelling and fishing are all possible too!

Parks and gardens

For a bit more peace and tranquillity, consider taking a casual stroll around some of Orlando’s beautiful parks and gardens. At the University of Florida you’ll find an arboretum and botanical garden that covers 80 acres and contains over 600 species of plants. Elsewhere, the Historic Bok Sanctuary features intricately landscaped gardens, along with an exotic range of flora.

Interesting museums

You might be surprised to hear that in addition to the theme parks and thrilling activities, Orlando also has plenty of informative and interesting museums. Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art is quite traditional, but the interactive Science Centre and the bizarre, yet spellbinding Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Orlando Odditorium are bound to keep young mind’s entertained.

Therefore, whether you’re heading to Orlando with your partner or the whole family, you definitely won’t be short of things to do, experience and enjoy.
