There are so many things to do in Los Angeles, California that it is no wonder that this beautiful city is a popular tourist destination for people around the world. Home to Hollywood and Disneyland, Los Angeles, California has a lot of appeal for a wide range of people. Whether you are planning a solo trip to the beach for some surfing or a family vacation, Los Angeles offers something for everyone.

When planning a trip and trying to decide what things to do in Los Angeles, California it is important that people keep their own personal interests in mind. Families are going to enjoy different events and sights than a single person in his or her twenties might. That is why, when planning a trip to Los Angeles, you really need to get all the information that you can about the city in order to decide what is right for you. Before you go, however, there are some things that nearly everyone planning a trip to Los Angeles needs to keep in mind. If you’re on an open ticket, make sure you stay long enough to get a great feel for the place. As a result it’s not hard to find moving companies Los Angeles and join the countless others who came for a vacation and stayed forever.

One of the most important things to remember is that California is a West Coast city. While that seems pretty obvious to most people, they don’t often think of the true meaning of a city being on the West Coast. The West Coast really started to boom when cars became popular and Los Angeles is evidence of a city driven forward by personal motor vehicles. Regardless of what things to do in Los Angeles, California you decide are right for your vacation, odds are high that you will need a car to get around. If you don’t drive into the city, consider renting a vehicle for the time that you are there. It is much more reliable and much safer than public transport.

The majority of the things to do in Los Angeles, California depend on what you are hoping to get out of your vacation. If you are interested in the music scene, you might want to consider spending some time at the famous Whiskey A Go Go, where they are still putting on live shows. Someone who has an interest in all things vintage will enjoy the Rose Bowl flea market, where people come from all around California to sell their lightly used goods. If you are traveling with a family, Disneyland cannot be missed.

Of course, there are a number of things to do in Los Angeles, California that are geared specifically towards tourists. Grab a guide book and rev your engine because no matter what you choose to do, adventure awaits.

Like every other part of the UK camping in Wales is very enjoyable. You’ll never find yourself at a loose end, as there’s so much to see and do in the principality, especially if you’re in a tent, motorhome or caravan. However, when it comes to going on a camping holiday in Wales, where are the best campsites? The Glamorgan area is sometimes overlooked, but this part of South Wales has a number of great places to stay.

One of the best UK camping sites is in Glamorgan and is called Llandow Touring Caravan Park near the market town of Cowbridge. Within a short distance of Cardiff, you won’t be short of things to do, but it’s also in a secluded spot within the Vale of Glamorgan, and lies just three miles from the coast. For the children, there’s a play area, while nearby golf courses, horse riding centres and restaurants in Cowbridge means you’ll be occupied throughout your holiday.

If you fancy staying in a caravan, Trecco Bay Holiday Park comes highly commended by many who’ve stayed there. On site, there’s an indoor swimming pool, outdoor pool, games room, play area and even a restaurant and café, so you’ll find it hard to leave the site for all the activities on offer. This site has recently undergone a £7m makeover, although if you want to get out and explore, the Blue Flag certified beach is a short walk away should you want to take your kids to the seaside.

Brynhyfryd Camping and Caravanning near Bridgend is another site which has plenty of amenities to its name. However, what’s best about this site is how close it is to all the major towns and cities including Bridgend and Swansea, which is handy should you want to go sightseeing. The site itself has a shop, laundrette and washing-up area, so you won’t have to bring your washing-up bowl with you.

Bodrum is an elegant port city located in Southwestern Turkey along the Bodrum Peninsula. Bodrum is the site of many historical attractions and is an excellent place to visit for people of all ages and interests. In this article, some of the most popular and exciting attractions in Bodrum, Turkey will be explored.

Castle of Saint Peter

When Crusader knights arrived in what is today Bodrum, Turkey, they began building the Bodrum Castle, or the Castle of Saint Peter. Since that time, the castle has undergone many changes and served many purposes. Today it houses many different exhibits. Guests will be astounded by the ornate architecture and the colorful history of this fortress.

Mausoleum

In the 11th century, the kingdom of Caria (which once contained Bodrum) was founded. It was later engulfed by the Persian Empire and was led by Mausolus. After his death, an enormous, ornate tomb was built in his honor. The Mausoleum stood for centuries until it was destroyed for its building materials. Although the Mausoleum is today in ruins, its beautiful setting and fascinating history make it worth seeing.

Museum of Underwater Archaeology

Located inside the walls of the Castle of Saint Peter, the Museum of Underwater Archaeology displays items found during archaeology missions off the coast of Bodrum. Along with these exhibits, visitors can marvel at maps, drawings, videos and displays that help provide more information about the artifacts. This museum is perhaps one of the most unique in Turkey and in the Mediterranean as a whole and is definitely worth the trip.

Shipyard

Located just beyond the Bodrum Marina, the newly restored shipyard offers a children’s playground, amazing views, and occasional art shows and events. After the Ottoman fleet was destroyed in 1770, shipyards like these were used to rebuild the fleet from scratch. Later, this shipyard was used to protect Bodrum from pirate invasions. This attraction appeals to both young and older visitors alike.

There are plenty of flights to Bodrum, Turkey and it is an excellent vacation spot for families, couples, or anyone interested in architecture and history. Some of the most exciting things to do are easily accessible and can be fun for all ages. In addition to these attractions, Bodrum also offers a unique food and live entertainment scene that can appeal to many different tastes. Consider visiting some of the attractions listed in this article on your next trip to Bodrum, Turkey!

It is not always that we find a park older than 3 centuries set amidst an urban landscape. Welcome to Caracas, the largest city that is also the capital of Venezuela. The Hacienda Floresta is not only a retreat right in city but also houses a beautiful photography museum. Ask anyone who has visited Caracas and a visit to El Teleferico would figure out as one of the most important things to do in the city. Take a tram ride and head to the mountain top, while enjoying amazing views of the city and the skyline along the way. The cool setting on the mountain top would be highly pleasing. Although much of the western world would claim to have better quality ropeway trams, Teleferico still has its unique charm.

Centro de Arte La Estancia is a lush green garden you would love to visit during the late afternoon. Take a brisk walk; explore the flora and the cultural center. Up next must be Ciudad Universitaria de Caracas, it is a mid twentieth century architecture at its best. Mosaics, art pieces and crafty patios would easily explain it to you why it has figured on the list of Heritage sites of UNESCO.

Jardin Botanico is certainly one of the best botanical gardens in this part of the world. Hundreds of palm trees and thousands of flowering plants in their entire natural splendor make for an amazing afternoon in the park. You can laze around, play or have a nice lunch out in the open, the possibilities are endless. If you are travelling in a group then a picnic at the Jardin Botanico can be exciting. The only caution you need to exercise is that the plants or the trees must not be tampered with.

If history intrigues you then Paseo de Los Proceres would offer you enough ground level information about the national heroes and insights of the Venezuelan liberalization. Plaza de Altamira can be easily classified as the latest hotspot in Caracas. Locals and tourists of different age groups come over in the evening to gaze at the fountain or simply walk around the square chatting, eating or simply enjoying the evening breeze. Casa Natal & Museo Bolivar would take you to the world when Venezuela and many other Latin American countries were still ruled by Spain and how the countries were liberated. The museum is beautiful, well preserved and certainly one of the places that you must visit in Caracas.

We all know the quality of Latin American art and there is no better place in Venezuela to know that other than the Museo de Arte Contemporaneo. After all the history and historic figures, this museum housing glimpses of modern art is a treat. Whether you are looking for Matisse or Picasso, you would not be disappointed at the Museo de Arte Contemporaneo.

If all the history and insightful art become a bit too heavy for your little ones, and obviously so, then Museo de los Ninos would do justice to their spirit. The children’s museum is highly interactive with its dedicated sections covering space exploration, physics, biology and the likes to entice your kids.

Turkey has very good shopping with a wide range of unique and beautiful arts and crafts available from handmade carpets and kilims to leather goods, hookahs etc.. Also other products with a distinctive Eastern flavour that will give your home a touch of exotic class and remind you of a fantastic vacation in one of the world’s most exciting countries.

Istanbul has many traditional markets, including the vast covered bazaar at the heart of the city, but there are also numerous modern department stores where you can pick up all manner of electrical and consumer goods. There’s nothing quite like spending an afternoon wandering around the stalls, especially when the muezzin is belting out a call to prayer from the local minaret.

Before we continue, we all know that Istanbul is world renowned for its great shopping but don’t discount the rest of Turkey as shopping is to be found everywhere. If you’re looking for specific products in particular you may wish to look into cheap car rentals. There are many sites such as CarHireMarket that will get you to those less known and accessible shopping destinations.

Turkish carpets are justly renowned across the world. Carpet making is a craft and skill that has been practised here since ancient times. A really good Turkish carpet is a rare piece of art and can set you back several thousand pounds, but there are cheaper varieties and they all look thoroughly authentic.

Although the price of gold and silver is fixed internationally, in Turkey you can still pick up items for a fraction of what you’d expect to pay in Germany or the UK. This is because of the reduced labour costs. The same applies to leather goods, and these are amongst the best to be found anywhere, with many of them headed for Italian designer outlets. Only premium grade leather is used by craftsmen to create beautiful products by hand, using traditional methods.

Hand-painted ceramics from Iznik are especially sought after by residents and tourists alike. Most of the Iznik tiles that have survived from the time of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent have lost none of their original splendour. They use a unique glazing process to create Islamic designs unsurpassed for their brilliant colours and innovative patterning.

Morning is the best time to go shopping in Turkey because the salesmen will have more time to assist. Traditionally, the first customer of the day is believed to have been sent by God and the shopkeeper has to please him or her to bring luck throughout the rest of the day. So the lesson there is to be first to get your foot through the door.

Be prepared to haggle, too. It’s perfectly normal in Turkey, even expected, and there’s something of an art to it. Shopkeepers will routinely offer a glass of tea or soda water and sit down for a long chat. It’s all very different to shopping in London. Start at 25 per cent of what you’re secretly willing to pay and you could walk away with a great bargain.

A road trip is a spontaneous unplanned adventure. It can be 20 miles or 200 miles, there are just no rules. It is a care free adventure that is relaxing and freeing all at the same time. So, if there is some place that you have always wanted to see or something you have been dying to do then there are a few simple guidelines to have an exhilarating and worry free road trip.

First you want to make sure you have time. You want to plan with an extra day between your road trip for any unexpected occurrences. This way you do not have to stress out about getting back on time to need deadlines or responsibilities. Anything can happen, cars malfunction, flat tires and other situations could cause delays. It is always good to plan for these rare occurrences.

Next be positive you have more than just gas money. You may need lodging, you will need food and drinks. Just as time can be affected by unexpected repairs, so can your finances. Be sure you have funds to cover anything that may need addressed along the way. Putting some aside for fun and adventures too.

Have a spare tire, a jack and jumper cables. Not only may you need them, but you never know when you may be able to help a stranded motorist. Being prepared is the only way to travel. You should also have a fire extinguisher, gas can, a comfortable pair of walking shoes, a light blanket, matches, a flash light , a couple bottles of water per person and some nonperishable food items stashed away. There should always be a first aide kit somewhere in your vehicle. If going green is your thing, may wish to use an electric car.

Now, plan your adventure. Where are you going? What are you wanting to see? What activities might you do along the way? Cover all the bases and pack accordingly. Do not forget if you are going to be on the road for a while you may want to have your fluids checked in the car too. Have all your necessary medications, and you cannot forget travel size hygiene products.

Things you may consider bringing along is an extra battery for your cell phone, a car charger, a camera or video recorder and all the necessary identifications for you and your car. You want to have licenses, social security card, title, registration and proof of insurance. If you have hands free software for your phone, it is highly recommended that you bring this along as well.

Who are you taking with you? If you are not just breaking away by yourself, be sure you and your travel companions have a check list of things needed and go over it before you leave. Replacing things over the road can get quite pricey. It is recommended to travel with at least one other person if this is acceptable.

If you do come across a stranded motorist, use your best judgment on whether or not you should stop. Absolutely do not ever pick up hitchhikers. Things can go bad fast in the wrong situation. Try to have some type of GPS system in your car or a good, up to date map. The GPS system is preferred. You do not want to end up in an unsafe place having to stop and look at a map.

Road trips are a lot of fun. You ca take them for many reasons or for no reason at all. They should be memorable adventures that you can talk about for years to come. Be prepared, stay safe and above all have fun!

Seattle, Washington is one of North America’s boating meccas, and whether you want to cruise, sail or fish, it’s a wonderful choice for your next family vacation. It’s worth noting that Seattle does require captains to possess a boating license WA, but most licenses from other states and Canadian provinces are also valid. Seattle is also a great choice for unlicensed boaters, since there are plenty of opportunities to sit back and enjoy the ride.

Cruising

Seattle has more than 30 boat launches scattered around the city. Most of them are very modern, and seven of them are fully motorized. Boaters can launch on the Lake Washington side, or launch into the Puget Sound, an arm of the Pacific Ocean. Tourists are invited to bring their own boats, but Seattle offers a number of rental opportunities, the biggest being Green Lake.

Sailing

Washington is home to the Seattle Sailing Club, which boasts an amazing pro shop and even a school. All instructors are ASA certified and US Coast Guard licensed, and courses range from beginner to advanced instruction. Sailors can bring their own boat, rent one or even take part on a sailing charter that can accommodate the entire family and even larger groups.

Charters

For non-captains, Seattle offers an array of charter opportunities. Sailing Seattle offers charters as short as one and a half hours, which cost less than $100 for an entire family. Through All-Star Charters, tourists can charter fishing boats, which range from small and private to large and public. Seattle also has a ferry terminal, which offers sightseeing tours and whale-watching adventures.

Fishing

In addition to boat launches and charters, Seattle also has 16 public fishing piers. On the North side, some of the most popular options are Foster Island, Arboretum’s Waterfront Trail and Green Lake Park. On the South side, the most popular options are Seacrest Park and Stan Sayres Memorial Park, which is home to the Mt. Baker Rowing and Sailing Center.

Scenery

Seattle offers a wide range of scenery, much of which is viewable from the water. One of Seattle’s biggest attractions is the downtown skyline, which includes the Space Needle. See if from the water one day, and then visit it up close the next. Other popular attractions are the Seattle Aquarium, Miner’s Landing at Pier 57 and Seattle’s Pike Place Market.

Restaurants

Even the hardiest boater has to stop to eat, and Seattle offers many great dining opportunities. If you’re in the mood for seafood, particularly world famous chowder, than Duke’s is a perfect choice. If it’s fine dining you want, then try Ray’s Boathouse, Pink Door or the Dahlia Lounge. For relaxed and low cost, try Kingfish Cafe, Toulouse Petit Kitchen and Lounge, and Red Mill Burgers.

Accommodations

Due to the nature of Seattle, one doesn’t have to go out of their way to stay near the water. The widest array of accommodations is located in the downtown area, and the options range from luxury hotels, such the Four Seasons, to economy motels, such as Red Roof. There are also a wide range of options near the launches, piers and clubs.

Located on the French Riviera, Nice, France, is breathtakingly beautiful. Once belonging to Italy, it became a part of France in 1860. With its gorgeous views of the azure sea, incredible shopping, dining and accommodations, and perfect weather, it’s not hard to see why Nice is visited by millions each year. If you are looking for things to do while in Nice, France, look no further.

MATISSE MUSEUM

Henri Matisse once resided in the Hotel Regina, and just steps away from its doors is the Musee Matisse. Here you will find a large number of this master artist’s paintings, hundreds of his drawings and engravings, and some of his sculptures and illustrated books. Photographs and artifacts from his personal collection are also available to view, giving you a fantastic glimpse in to the life of this amazing artist.

COURS SALEYA MARKETS

If you can, try to get here early. The vendors set up around 6 a.m., but if you’d rather sleep, try to arrive by 9 to beat the crowds. There is a wide range of markets to choose from depending on what you are looking for. Antiques markets showcase arts and crafts, antique postcards, and antique books. At the fruit and vegetable market you will find a huge assortment of mostly organic local produce. Fresh fish is yours for the taking at the Marche aux Poissons – open every day except Monday. The flower market is something to see, and is also closed Mondays, but you will see flowers in every color of the rainbow, freshly picked just for you.

PROMENADE DES ANGLAIS

This pedestrian promenade stretches along the Mediterranean coast and is where you will find scores of people enjoying the fresh sea air, sunshine and amazing views while they walk.

RUSSIAN ORTHODOX CATHEDRAL

So visually out of place here, this great cathedral with its onion spires reaching towards the sky offers a unique contrast to the tropical palms surrounding it. It was built in 1912 for the incredible influx of Russian aristocrats who flocked to the coast to vacation.

PALAIS MASSENA

This art museum is housed in a villa that underwent construction in 1900. Its focus is on local history and decorative art, and a visit is a fantastic way to learn about the area.

If you are fortunate enough to visit Nice, France, allow yourself enough time there to not only appreciate and enjoy the beauty it offers, but also to be able to explore this amazing city on the French Riviera.

Arusha is the safari capital of east Africa, and is the first stop on the northern safari circuit. There are two types of visitors to Arusha, those that are going on safari, and those that are just coming back. Take some time to explore the town itself however, or you’ll be missing out on a great sense of what modern Africa is all about.

Nestled snuggly in the foothills of Mount Meru, Arusha is actually an old German garrison town. With some of Africa’s most famous national parks and landmarks surrounding Arusha, it’s dry, mild climate, and multicultural diversity, it’s easy to see why so many visit this wonderful town each year. When in Arusha here are some thing to do that are not to be missed:

ARUSHA NATIONAL PARK

It might not be Tanzania’s largest park (and is, in fact, the smallest) but what it lacks in size Arusha National Park makes up for in beauty and diversity. The Ngurdoto Crater is one of its main features, and it is surrounded by forest, while its floor is swamp-like.

Head west of the crater and you will find Serengeti Ndogo, a large area of grassland and the only place within Arusha National Park to see herds of Burchell’s zebras.

The Momela Lakes are shallow and alkaline, which attracts scores of wading birds, like flamingos. Each lake is fed by a different underground stream, and because of this they each have a different mineral content. Mineral content determines the type of algae growth in each lake, and therefore, each lake is a different color.

There is an abundance of wildlife in the park including waterbucks, reedbucks, hippos, buffalos, giraffes, elephants, hyenas and more; there are no lions or rhinos in the park.

THE ARUSHA MARKET

You really can buy almost anything at the Arusha markets, from fresh fruits and vegetables to local crafts and everything in between. Prices are reasonable as long as you avoid the touristy kiosks. Textiles, jewelry, carvings, local food and native art are great buys, although it’s worth a trip just to enjoy the frenetic atmosphere, and to people watch.

Arusha is a jumping point for visitors going on safari. While no trip to the area is complete without venturing out on safari, it would be a shame to not take a few days to enjoy all that the town of Arusha has to offer.

Hanoi is a perfect blend of old and new Asia. Its architecture is an eclectic mix of Russian, French and Chinese influences and is truly a sight to behold. Hanoi’s residents are a proud lot and they treat their tourists well.

A trip to this 1000 year old city is a trip to one of the most ancient capitals in the world. Some believe it to be the most beautiful city in all of Asia and there is much to do and see.

HANOI OPERA HOUSE

The Hanoi Opera House is one of Hanoi’s most famous cultural and architectural monuments. It took ten years to build, from 1901-1911 and was modeled after the Palais Garnier, one of Paris’ two famous opera houses. The Hanoi Opera House is host to many different events, including art shows, concerts, dance performances and is where the Vietnamese Orchestra performs on a regular basis.

HANOI WATER PUPPET THEATER

Water puppetry is a folk art that dates back to the 11th century. Puppets are made of lacquered, water tight wood, and are controlled by an apparatus hidden under the water that is controlled by puppeteers. Water puppetry is a popular form of entertainment, and the shows give an interesting look in to the daily life of Vietnamese farmers, communal entertainment, or historical legends.

VIETNAM WAR MEMORIAL

The memorial, which was erected in 1993, commemorates the lives of men and women who sacrificed themselves for their nation’s independence and freedom. It is situated in an area of trees, yards and ponds by design, as it was meant to be in harmony with the land, sky, air and water.

BAT TRANG PORCELAIN AND POTTERY VILLAGE

20 minutes or so outside of Hanoi you will find this wonderful village rich in clay, where they have taken advantage of this fact to create fine ceramics. Export of this pottery was not made possible until 1986, but the world now knows of their high quality products. Visit the market where you can make your own pottery, or visit the shops and pick up some pieces to take home.

NGOC SON TEMPLE

This is arguably one of the most visited temples in Hanoi, across the scarlet bridge over Lake Hoan Kiem. It is surrounded by park land and is an ideal break from the fast paced city.

A visit to Hanoi, Vietnam is a trip worth making, with a plethora if things to do, see and experience.
